This launcher seems to go out of its way to hide the fact it's downloading. It doesn't show download rate, and because the patch amount is almost exactly the same as the Steam download you sit there trying to figure out why it takes an hour to 'install' a game to an SSD.

If you download from Steam it will download 10gig then when you start up the PS2 Launcher it will also download 10gig because the version is wrong. The forums clearly tell you not to validate your steam files as you will have to redownload the game twice. For instance i first downloaded in steam it did the steam download then the launcher "installing" which is another download. Second time I installed directly from the website and only had to download once.
